Bread Recipe Basic Guide

Here is a simple recipe for basic bread:


  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 packet of instant yeast (2 1/4 teaspoons)
  • 1 1/2 cups warm water


  1. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, salt, sugar, and yeast.
  2. Add the warm water and mix until a sticky dough forms.
  3. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for 10 minutes.
  4. Place the dough into a greased bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
  5. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  6. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and shape it into a round loaf.
  7. Place the loaf on a baking sheet and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the loaf is golden brown.
  8. Let the bread cool before slicing and serving.
